About the AMHP OnDemand CE Library
Our new AMHP CE Library is up and running and I want to make it crystal clear how this thing works. Then please run out and tell every licensed counselor you know all about it and give them the link to the AMHP site. Here we go.
About the AMHP OnDemand CE Library
1. The CE Library is for AMHP Members only.
2. The CE Library is included in your annual AMHP membership, no extra charge. (Your first year membership is $10 bucks. You know where you can get almost all your ce's cheaper than that?)
3. Our weekly podcast, The Therapy Sisters, is available in the CE Library for ce credit. The podcast is also available in our Spotify account for anyone to listen to but there is no ce credit associated with it if you listen to it there.
4. No, we cannot back-issue you a certificate because you "accidentally" listened to the podcast on Spotify, nor will we issue back certificates because you listened to something 3 months ago. It's a new program and we have to start it sometime! Just go listen to it again on the AMHP site and download the certificate when you're done.
5. ALL of the courses we place into the Library are considered to be from an "Approved Provider" because you got it through an association and Kathleen Mills is a Supervisor. We place an official emblem on each certificate as well, as proof that you got it from an Approved Provider source.
6. For our TX members we make an explanatory diagram of the TX Mental Health license renewal requirements available for AMHP Members as well as a tracking sheet to help you keep this mess organized. You can download a pdf file containing both documents from our Digital Assets for Members page. You can also read a series of 3 blog posts we did explaining the new ce renewal requirements and you may begin that series here.
7. Print out the ce certificates as you complete them because you're responsible for tracking which courses you took, when you took them, and which renewal cycle they apply to. Just print and put it in a manilla folder somewhere.
8. FYI, Phillip is in the process of adding a lot of additional material over the next few months in many different categories. When he's finished with that then we'll be producing additional content for regular publication in the Library.
9. Most of our courses will easily count as Ethics courses, but you may also count any course as an "Elective" if you don't need ethics.
10. There will be at least one, 3-hour Cultural Awareness course in the library in the next week or two and we'll add more, for variety, over time.
11. There will be no Human Trafficking Course offered in the Library as that requires HHS approval but we will include a link to one of our CE Provider Members who does offer an online version of it.
12. We don't offer the jurisprudence exam. You'll need to take that at the usual places online.
Why Are We Doing This?
- To add more valuable to your AMHP membership, for one.
- If we make your required renewal hours available OnDemand then you can knock them out anytime you want to. That way we free up an entire day at the annual conference so we can focus on the really hot material and keep you on the cutting edge of things.
- And finally, we're incorporating a lot of what we did at PracticeMentors.us into the AMHP Program. We'll still offer Supervisor Training Workshops through Practicementors.us, though.
Summary
Take advantage of the ridiculously low AMHP membership cost and avail yourself of the AMHP CE Library and everything else we have to offer. Participation in our Partnership Program alone will more than pay for your AMHP membership. It's a no-brainer.
One more thing, if you're a ce course provider you have the opportunity to promote your courses several ways through AMHP. That might be a blog post of its own but, in the meantime, if you'd like to talk about doing that (it's free if you're an AMHP member!) then reach out to Phillip and ask him how you can promote your stuff through AHMP. As he is fond of saying, "Asking is free!"
