Infil Through Ethics Codes
In a Sept 1 article by Melisa Quinn of CBS News she states that SC Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson says she supports an enforceable “ethics code” for the Supreme Court amid calls from Democrats for stricter rules. In other words, the far-left would like some type of officially recognized control mechanism that they do not currently possess, to influence Supreme Court rulings.
Charlie Kirk, of Turning Point USA had this response.
Quote "Let’s be clear about what this is. The left (is quite aware of what it's asking for). “Ethics codes” have already been the mechanism for the woke takeover of professional associations. Rather than actually win debates, liberals simply make it (professionally) “unethical” to even disagree with them on transitioning kids or implementing CRT".
He goes on to say...
"The purpose of an “ethics” code wouldn’t be “ethics,” (it would be) about ideological control. It would be a way for liberal lower-court judges or Democrat apparatchiks to nullify or overrule conservatives on the Supreme Court, or threaten them with fines and sanctions if they don’t get in line." End Quote
Much like the treatment woke groups of mental health counselors deliver to other counselors online, when the latter hold a different and more traditional evidence-based professional opinion.
Where Does This Lead Us?
Once the captured professional associations' code of ethics has been promoted as the gold standard through academia in all 50 states then their efforts are turned towards other institutions. That would include our licensing boards to effect similar changes through their ethical codes. See how that works?
Even offices of our own state government are not immune from recommending policies tainted with the woke ideology. You just need to learn to recognize it.
Our mental health licensing boards are composed of good people who are not immune to the post-modern advances of Critical Theory or Cultural Marxism; it has many names. It's cloaked in a thin veneer of professional "competency", equality of outcome, and fairness; labels that appeal to the majority including the educated. It's a redefined competency that says we must be all things to all people, refusing help to no one regardless of outcome. But claiming competency in all facets of a profession is the very definition of incompetence.
Kirk concludes by saying, Quote "any conservative who falls for this scam should be embarrassed, and if they hold elected office they should lose it."

Counselors are US Citizens and are free to choose their career path and any specialization they wish to pursue.
DEI initiatives lower the bar of competency and attack the constitutional rights of counselors on several levels. The State of Texas agrees evidenced by SB's 14 and 17.
The SHCC recommendation is clearly written as a DEI initiative and presented as a workforce solution. Maybe we should get in step with the State Legislature and move away from DEI initiatives?
The workforce headcount shortage will not be solved by forcing licensees to become competent in areas in which they have no desire to work.
Hanging your hat on the phrase, "but not limited to" is not good enough. We're suggesting that you call it what it is, a DEI initiative, and follow the lead of the TX Legislature. Repeal it and use the Quadrennial Review as your opportunity.
The headcount problem originates in the realm of academia where they're running off good potential counselors with their Marxist brow-beating. We talk to these kids all the time. What are you doing about that?
We're suggesting that you repeal the 50% requirement. At the last several open forums BHEC has held, the #1 question by far has been for clarification on how the CE Matrix works now. Almost 2 years after implementation people are still very confused.
We need our boards to get out of the "career management through agenda-driven ce requirements" business.
In a Townhall meeting last month I invited each of you to attend our conference whether you'e a professional or public member. The ticket's on me and all you have to do is get there but to date we've had no takers. That says a lot to me and makes me very sad for my profession. The offer stands.
Thank you for listening.
