All Work and No Play
"All work and no play makes a dull counselor" is how I think that quote goes, right? So this week let's have a little fun.
I want to know in the comments below who the very first concert you ever attended was. Who did you see and what was the most memorable aspect of it? And if you can't remember who the first one was then tell us about the most memorable concert.
I'll Go First
I was studying classical music as a flute performance major at the time and I was a sophomore in college. My future husband Dan and I went to see Queen on Jan 22nd 1977 (cause I just looked it up!) and the warm-up act was Thin Lizzy. It was fantastic but the thing I remember most was the funny smell that was in the arena. The most horrible smell ever! That was my first exposure to that. But the show was great.
What Phillip Said...
"I don't even remember who the first one was. What I do remember as a freshman in high school was wondering how in the world all these guys knew who was coming to town, when, and how much the tickets were. I finally worked up enough courage to admit my ignorance (not an easy task on a busload of football players) and asked one of them how he knew all this stuff. The answer was amazingly simple. He got it by listening to the radio, which I apparently never did. I quickly determined what the go-to station was and a whole new world opened up to me."
"I saw a lot of groups...Heart, Journey, The Doobie Brothers, The Babys, Boston (dang that was good!), but the most memorable was Fleetwood Mac. Three times. Yes, there was a girl involved, one of several that got away but, what a show. I still have dreams about that group. Not the girl, though."
Now It's Your Turn
Well? Who was your first concert, or your favorite, and why? Go on, put it in the comments below and remember this is a family-friendly site, thank you.
You got this.

The Beach Boys at Six Flags, I was in elementary school in the 1980s. It was in the parking lot and I remember that my feet hurt so badly from standing because there were no chairs. The next was probably The Monkees when I was in junior high and the show was being rebroadcast in the late 80s.
