This is the second-half of a blog post which details an overview of the Post-Modern/Woke Movement in the 20th century. It's a detailed backdrop against which the Woke tactics can be viewed in an attempt to explain how we got here and what we need to do to save our profession. Find the first half of this post here.

Irrational Rhetoric To Rule Them All

We’re not talking about language as you and I know it. The overall strategy goes much deeper than this but a consistently fluid deconstruction and re-write of words and phrases and normalization of associated concepts is a large part of the strategy.

When you dismantle Reason, Individualism, Objectivism, and Realism then you are free to do, say, be anything.  No one can tell you differently because your reality only depends on your definition of it. It can be anything you want it to be. That dismantling was done 100 years ago and the Woke Movement is taking it to its logical and extreme outcome.

Here’s a few language tactics you may recognize.

1. “Political Correctness” was introduced in the ‘90’s and was a way to keep their opponents on their heels through the use of guilt and shame (feelings). It also helped reinforce the cultural group identity mentality. Remember when you couldn’t utter a phrase without someone responding, “I’m offended!”.

2. It laid the groundwork for the sexual revolution in the ‘60’s, the introduction and normalization of the gay world and “alternative lifestyles” into mainstream media in the ‘70’s. Remember when "LGB" was all there was? Now it's LGBTQIA+ etc with no end in sight and the definition for each gender-type seems to change daily.

3. BLM. A new phrase, Black Lives Matter, intended to divide people into groups along racial lines and incite violence.

4. The most recent assault on the majority sensibilities is the gender affirming care issue. Break down and redefine the language associated with biologically normal development patterns, throw in a large dose of subjective thought, toss realism out the door, add premature surgery and we can rebuild gender to be anything we want it to be.

5. "What is a Woman?" This has been totally re-defined by the Left. Awfully difficult to have a debate with someone if they're operating on a set of definitions for words that are diametrically opposed to the definitions you're using for that same set of words.

6. A recent tactic to hinder simple communication and generate friction between groups is the insistence on individual sets of pronouns for each person (notice how Individualism suddenly works for them when it furthers their political agenda!).

7. DEI and BIPOC are relatively new acronyms. Each concept is backed by a carefully packaged "cause" designed to recruit the younger generations. They are not what their marketing department would have you believe.

8. Then there's the normalization of Drag Queen Story Hour which is an internationally organized effort to indoctrinate youth at their youngest levels. It's the grooming of our children for nefarious purposes.

They can't win their argument on the corpse of a dead ideology. Their hatred for capitalism and desire to snuff it out is so intense they will devote their lives to it. But they need a strategy to win, a strategy that ignores the empirical evidence.

Language is the grease that allows a society to function. A people, a society without a stable language will grind to a halt if its language is impaired.

Force as a Primary Tactic

During the first half of the 20th century Hitler, Lenin, Mao all grew tired of waiting on the masses to revolt and usher in their socialist regimes, so they took matters into their own hands and seized power.

This is an important point because it explains why, and in fact authorizes, the Post-Modern adherents so readily use force to achieve their objectives. That trend to take what you think is right through violent civil unrest continued through the ‘60’s as campuses burned and dozens of splinter groups formed willing to bomb public buildings and kill people, all in the name of a failed ideology. The violence component is still alive and well (Antifa, Proud Boys, etc) and is not a last resort for them at all.

Where Are All of These Woke People Coming From?

Our universities have been generating thousands of like-minded opponents of The American Way each year for the past 70 years. These people graduate and hold positions of authority throughout our country in academia, government, large corporations and the medical industry. If America is to be defeated it will be done from within and this is how it is being accomplished (present-tense intended).

Connect the Dots

All of this is connected and all of it started prior to the founding of America. Thank God America was founded on the diametrically opposed set of philosophical principles of John Locke and his constituents or we’d all be wearing grey pantsuits now and praying to State Leaders.

The Counter-Enlightenment Movement (Post-Modernism) continued in Europe after the ink on our Constitution dried. Efforts to prove capitalism the inferior economic-political model have been in play since Day 1 of our founding and continue to this day. But Socialism/Communism is an evil model and has yet to win a game on the world stage. It’s exerting a last-gasp effort to take down American capitalism but the only way it can win is for “good Men to do nothing”.
